Mark T. Hanson is a guitarist
and audio engineer in Lynnwood, Washington, just outside of Seattle. (Don't
get him confused with the singer/guitarist in the
Florida area
with the same name, or Mark D. Hanson who writes books on finger picking.)
Long ago and far away, Mark was born and raised in a small town called Yakima, Washington, where he started playing guitar at the age of 12. His interest in music and audio led him to study electronics and recording. He received an Associate Arts Degree in Music from Yakima Valley College and spent a year at Berklee College of Music in Boston before obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.
While pursuing a career in the
high tech industry, Mark kept involved
in music and audio, playing in several
Seattle area bands and recording demos
on multi-track reel to reel and cassette
recorders. Most recently, he has been
playing in the worship band at Mill Creek Foursquare Church.
Mark is currently running Pro Tools
9 in his personal studio, and is working on several projects. His guitar playing covers variety of acoustic and electric styles. The last several years, he has been focusing on jazz and blues. He also enjoys playing 12 string guitar, and approaches the 12 string as an instrument with unique tonalities and playing techniques.
