Met three girls on the road to Paia
Thumbs out, looking for a ride
Just this side of Maalaea Bay
I pulled over, they jumped inside
Mountain on the left, cane field on the right
Tryin’ to get home while it was still light
Swimmin’ at Black Rock, then playin’ it cool
Sneakin’ in a hotel swimmin’ pool
Skatin’ around Lahaina town
Then hitch a ride home ‘fore the sun goes down
The one in front said her name was Ashley
She asked if she could play a techno CD
She seemed to think that I might mind
But I been crankin’ tunes long before her time
Just because I still spin vinyl from the seventies
Doesn’t mean I only listen to the Bee Gees
We got to town all safe and sound
Before they got out, they looked around
I guess they didn’t want anyone to see
They hitched a ride home with a howlie like me.
And I hope their parents don’t mind
That I gave their daughters a ride
And I’ll never forget the time
I met three girls while I was
On The Road To Paia
